PRESTON, IDAHO Mervin C. Sharp

Mervin C. Sharp, 88, passed away June 15, 2011 at Franklin County Medical Center. He was born September 21, 1922 in Preston, Idaho to Clarence John and LaVeda Porter Sharp. He married Mary Nichols on December 15, 1948 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. Mervin was an active member of the L.D.S. Church, serving in many leadership and teaching positions. He and Mary served together as temple officiators in the Logan Temple for 8 years.

He taught in the Preston School District for 35 years and owned Sharp Honey
Company. He was a hard worker and a loving husband and father. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children, Alene (David) Parrish of Preston, Idaho; Gayle (Richard)
Thompson of Clarkston, Utah; Lynda (Marvin) Sorensen of Preston, Idaho; Marie (Jerry) Larsen of Preston, Idaho; Kevin (Mary Sue) Sharp of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Brenda (Alan) Freestone of Monticello, Utah; Wayne (Stacey) Sharp of Clinton, Utah; Karla (Craig) Dutson of Oak City, Utah; two brothers, Nolan (Shirley) Sharp and Howard (Kathy) Sharp; 37 grandchildren and 44great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by hiswife, Mary, an infant daughter, his parents, his sister Florence, his brother Keith, and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20,2011 at 11 a.m. in the Preston Third
Ward Chapel,155 North 2nd West, Preston, Idaho, with Bishop Leonard Ward conducting. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, June 19, at Webb Funeral Home's new facility, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Eskelson and the medical staff at the hospital and the
