Mern Parry Palmer, beloved Wife, dear Aunt, devoted daughter and sister, passed away November 28, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona from age related complications. She was a resident of Preston, Idaho. She is survived by her husband Ronald W Palmer, her loving husband of 62 years.
Mern spent the last 30 years living in Preston, Idaho in the summer and Apache Junction, Arizona in the winter. She has many friends in both areas. She worked most of her life for Utah Power and Light as an Executive Secretary for the general manager. She also worked alongside her husband in their mink ranching business.
She loved crafts and became a talented stained glass artisan. She also enjoyed crocheting. She took pride in her beautiful yard and flower gardens. She was a competitive bowler on the Ladies League at the Pop n Pin Lanes and was a Hall of Fame Bowler. Mern and Ron enjoyed many years at their summer retreat up Cub River Canyon. They were generous with their lovely spot by the river. Mern and Ron also enjoyed traveling in their motor home and each year were at the Blackfoot Fair to watch the Indian Horse Races.
She is survived by her husband Ronald W Palmer, her loving husband of 62 years. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Edwin "Ted" Parry and Florence Jennette Nelson Parry. Her only brother, Keith N. Parry, and her brother in law Jim Palmer have also passed away. Aunt Mern is also survived by her nieces and nephews who thought of her as a second mother. These are, Dennis and Debbie Parry of Providence Utah, Steven and Michelle Parry of Logan, Utah. David Parry , Gary and Melanie Cook, and Michael Parry of Twin Falls Idaho, Lewis and Staci Palmer and Allison Palmer of Preston, Idaho, Jim and Michelle Payton of North Ogden, Utah. She is also survived by her sister in law, Linda Palmer of Preston.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, Idaho. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
