RICHMOND, UTAH - - MAXINE M. MCNUTT
RICHMOND- Maxine Merrill McNutt, 89, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at the Legacy House in Logan, Utah. She was born April 16, 1919, in Preston, Idaho, the daughter of Marriner Oran and Flossy Webb Merrill. She married Brig. General Charles H. McNutt on July 13, 1946, in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Temple.
After graduating high school, she went to Washington D.C. where she got a job arranging housing for the military personnel. She volunteered to go to Europe as a member of the Engineering Corps where she met her husband. They stayed in Germany and adopted their daughter Barbara, and returned to the states and settled in Santa Barbara, California. She retired from the military and went on to become an interior designer. Maxine was always so friendly and willing to help anyone in many different ways. She loved to travel and visited many exotic locations worldwide with her husband.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (George) Fisher of Houston, Texas; a brother, Morris W. Merrill of Logan, Utah; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Kelton Merrill.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at noon at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, in Preston. Friends may call Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
