Preston - Maxine Condie Hymas, 88, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born on January 3, 1926 in Winder, Idaho to George Moroni and Caroline Elise Johnson Condie. She married Mack Don Hymas on February 14, 1945 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Maxine loved singing and sang in the Rotary Choir for many years. She also sang with her son Bruce and they sang at numerous funerals. She was active in the LDS Church and worked in Extraction for nine years. She had a great love of music and always enjoyed spending time with family. Maxine worked for 22 years at U&I Furniture and another 15 years in the office at Preston Products where she retired in 1999.

She is survived by her three children, Earl (Carol Deene) Hymas, of Preston; Jan (Bart) Wilcox, of Preston, and Jeanie (Fenton) Butterfield, of Elko, Nevada. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mack, a son Bruce, a daughter Judy Lamont, a great grandson Kristopher Cole, and five brothers Noel, George, Clyde, Ray, and Dean, and a sister Carol Condie.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 North State Street with Bishop Jeff Palmer conducting. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
