Max L. Hansen

Max Lavar Hansen, 92, passed away on May 31, 2015 at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho.  He was born March 15, 1924 in Preston, Idaho the son of John LeRoy and Clara Katherina Nuffer Hansen.  

He served his country during World War II in the Air Force.  He married JoAnn Telford on Oct. 1, 1952, in the Logan Utah Temple.  She preceded him in death on Nov. 8, 2012.

He worked as a State of Idaho Electrical Inspector and served as the President of the State Electrical Inspectors Board.  He loved to tinker in the garage fixing anything and everything for his family and friends.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served as Financial Clerk, Ward Clerk, Executive Secretary and as President of his ward seventy quorum.  He loved his family and supported his grandchildren in all their activities.  He enjoyed reading the newspaper and keeping up with current events.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by three daughters and one son, Carey (Lee) Cole of Preston; Kristi (Clarke) Thompson of Rexburg, Idaho; Craig (Susan) Hansen of Preston; Sheri (Kenneth) Hollingsworth of Preston; by 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; by one great-great grandchild and by a brother, Clair (Allie) Hansen of Preston.  He was preceded in death by his wife; by a grandson, Kayd Hansen; by two brothers, Don Hansen and Ariel Hansen and by a sister, Helen Heath.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho with President Hank Povey conducting.  Friends may call Thursday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the mortuary.  Military rites and interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
