Weston - Max Arlin Bartholomew died peacefully Monday April 29, 2013, surrounded by family and friends. He escaped the cruel effects of cancer and heart disease and went on to a better life. He was a righteous example of trying to live as the Savior would have us live. He will be greatly missed.

Max was born August 4, 1942 in Provo, Utah to Lee Berns Bartholomew and Lois May Durrant Bartholomew. He was the eldest of six children. He married Linda Young December 27, 1963. He was a Lt. Col in the United States Air Force serving as a meteorologist then spending time in the Air Force Reserves.

He loved woodworking, fishing, and gardening. He was an active member of the LDS Church always serving in some position. Most recently he and Linda were officiators at the Logan Temple, and before that they were service missionaries at Cinnamon Creek Church Camp for three summers.

He is survived by his wife Linda; children Charlotte (Brian) Womack, Marlin C. (Helen) Bartholomew, Jon Lee (Selena) Bartholomew, Peggy (Miguel) Martinez, Lauralyn (Aaron) Anderson, JoAnna (Tom) Arnold, Michael D. (Barbara) Bartholomew, Jason Lee (MacKenzie) Bartholomew, Daniel E. (Janita) Bartholomew and 35 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Douglas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 3rd at 12:00 noon in the Weston 1st Ward chapel with Bishop Randy Austin conducting. There will be a viewing Thursday from 6:00 " 8:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho and on Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Weston Church. Interment will be in the Weston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
