Preston, Idaho Max W. Andreasen
Preston - Max Wayne Andreasen, 87, prominent rancher and businessman and amazing father passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was born on July 21, 1924 to Roy C. and Lula Larsen Andreasen. He married Mardene Harris on January 16, 1942 and they were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with 10 children. Mardene preceded him in death in 1992. He later married Pat Smith on May 9, 1994.
Max was a long time rancher in Cleveland, Idaho and a well-respected livestock dealer. He served in various positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member and chairman of the Grace School District Board of Education. Max also served on the ASC committee of Franklin County. Max and Mardene owned one motel in Nephi, and two motels in Heber City, Utah.
Max is survived by his wife Pat, eight children, Kay (Elaine) Andreasen, of Riverdale, ID; Von (Nickie) Andreasen, of Rocklin, CA; Vicky (Bill) Draughn, of Layton, UT; Maxene (Lew, deceased) Sweat, of Heber City, UT; Gay (Dale) Royce, of Nephi, UT; Patti (Chad) Bowles, of Nephi, UT; Kim (Valerie) Andreasen, of Thatcher, ID; Eve (Scott) Jackson, of Ferron, UT; 34 grandchildren, 93 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, a brother Dee Andreasen, and a sister DeVon Hoggan. Max is also survived by his step children Randy (LaDean) Smith, of Pocatello, ID; Scott (Suzanne) Smith, of St. George, UT; Ned (Deb) Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; Maren (Douglas) Stromberg, of Providence, UT; and Tim (Kristen) Smith of Rigby, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mardene, a daughter Sandra (Ed) Jensen, a son Van Andreasen, grandson Brady James Andreasen, and a great granddaughter Matye Don Ingram.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Preston 10th Ward LDS Chapel, 155 North 200 West, in Preston with Bishop Lynn Eskelson conducting. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, and Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Lago Cemetery.
