Preston, Idaho - - - Maurine E. Ainscough
Preston - Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Maurine Erickson Ainscough, 83, passed away peacefully this past Christmas evening, December 25, 2012. Maurine was born August 15, 1929, in Cornish, Utah, to John Oliver Erickson and Olive Fredricka Bunderson. She married Charles Owen Ainscough, Jr. on May 25, 1947. Their love was sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah, Temple.
Maurine was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the Lord and served unselfishly for many years in leadership and teaching positions in Relief Society, Young Women, Primary, and Cub Scouts. She loved her family and took great pride in seeing her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren grow and learn.
While raising five children she was employed by the School District and then as the Assistant Franklin County Treasurer . She later became the County Treasurer. She loved the holidays, especially sharing her delicious Christmas treats with friends and co-workers.
She is survived by her children: Marsha, Sharon (Greg) Gough, Mark (Rebekah), and Scott; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; sisters: Leona and Ruth. She is preceded in death by her eternal husband: Owen; daughter: Charlene; sisters: Verna Luella, Mary, and Nelva; and brothers: LeRoy and Grant.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 North State Street, in Preston with Bishop Jeff Palmer conducting. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
