Maryminta aka Mary Thompson

Mary aka, Mary Minta and Maryminta Goodman Thompson age 100, of Richmond, Utah, passed away at Terrace Grove Assisted Living in Logan UT on November 3, 2017.

She was born in Arimo Idaho on September 22, 1917 to James Edwin and Isabel Jenkins Goodman. They were blessed with 8 siblings, 1 sister survives Margret Williams from Pocatello, ID.

She married Walter Iver Thompson on August 12, 1937.  The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan UT temple. They had been married for 58 years when he passed away in 1995.

            She attended schools in Arimo and Pocatello ID, and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1936.

            They lived in Ventura California for a short period of time before moving to Richmond where they were engaged in dairy and farming businesses.

            She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints.  She did much temple work, genealogy and wrote many family histories.  She was member, at large of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

            She worked many hours in her yard and garden.  She claimed she only did it because it had to be done, but it was easy to see for anyone passing by that she loved her home and yard.

            Her three children are Gloria Heiner, (James and Gloria Heiner deceased), Barbara Thompson Dorigatti, (Bruce K Thompson deceased), (James L Dorigatti) North Salt Lake City UT and Walter Jay (LouJean) Thompson, North Ogden UT.  She has 15 grandchildren, 40 greatgrandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren.

            The family wishes to thank the Terrace Grove nurses, staff and ST Hospice for their wonderful care and love they showed our mother.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Richmond Second Ward Chapel, 150 S. 1st E., Richmond, Utah. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
