Mary Sherry Frederick

PRESTON- Mary Gardiner Sherry Frederick, 84, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at the Heritage Home in Preston. She was born March 13, 1924, in Collingswood, New Jersey, to William Henry and Frances Cecelia Smith Sherry. She served her country in the Navy during World War II.She moved to Provo, Utah in 1947. She married Frances Etoyle Frederick on July 10, 1948, in Collingswood, New Jersey. They lived in Provo until 1952. She attended BYU, dress design school and modeling school. In 1952, they moved to Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania until 1962 when they moved back to Provo. She moved to Preston, Idaho in May of 2008 to be close to her daughter.She was active in the Provo Community Church (United Church of Christ). She was involved with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and served in various charities. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading.She is survived by two daughters, Sherry J. (Earnest) York of Preston, Idaho; Deborah A. (Ron) Hollberg of Bountiful, Utah; a son, Franklin H. (Ann) Frederick of Provo, Utah; a step-daughter, Gwen (James) Grammes of Diamond Bar, California; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and by her parents.Services and burial will be held at a later date at the Camp Williams Veterans Cemetery.
