Marva Halverson Bell

Marva Lee Halverson Bell, 73, passed away suddenly on Friday June 6, 2014 surrounded by the love of her devoted husband Gerald. Marva was born on June 27, 1940 in Pocatello, Idaho making Delbert Halverson and Cleone Tripp Halverson proud first time parents. After moving to California she was joined by a sister then brother. Her youngest sister joined them during the family's time in Montana. Shortly afterward the family made their home in Richmond where Marva would reside for the remainder of her life. This is where she met and fell in love with her husband of 55 years, Gerald D. Bell. They were married in the Logan Temple on November 7, 1958. Together they had three beautiful children who instantly became the center of her world.

- Besides stealing gas, apples, and chickens as a teenager, Marva enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and being outdoors. She especially liked being the pitcher for her softball team. In high school, she won the Betty Crocker award for the Future Homemakers of America. She later used these skills to make her famous Macaroni and Potato salads, Mac n Cheese, and hot fudge. Early in their marriage Marva and Gerald had fun bowling and winning many first place trophies.

- Marva was a lunch aide at North Cache and later retired from the Smithfield Post Office. Of all her job titles the three she cherished the most were loving wife, nurturing mother, and world's best grandma. She spent many hours babysitting her grand and great-children and supporting them in their many activities. Marva always opened her door for friends and family needing a place to stay.

- She is survived by her husband Gerald Bell of Richmond, daughter Renie (Zan) Harris of Richmond, son J.Dee of Idaho Falls, 9 adoring grandchildren, and 14+ great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving sisters Gaylene (Seth) Traveller of California, LaRae (Wynn) Gibbons of Lewiston, and brother Brent (Heather) Halverson of Arizona.

- Marva was preceded in death by her oldest son Gary D. Bell, her parents Deb and Cleone Halverson, her mother and father in law George and Emma Bell, and nephew Brooks Gibbons.
