Franklin, Idaho - Marlene Moser Kingsford, 71, passed away early on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Logan Regional Hospital in Logan, Utah. She was born on December 24, 1941 in Preston, Idaho to Joseph LeGrand and Lulu Clayton Moser. She grew up in Whitney, Idaho. Marlene married Larry Dean Kingsford on December 11, 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Marlene loved to watch her children and grandchildren participate in sports and other activities they were involved in. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and reading cookbooks was her passion. She was kind to everyone she met and could make friends with a stranger on the street. Marlene made many lifelong friends through the years and she cherished every one of them. She worked as a beautician for many years but her real love was visiting with people while working at OP Skaggs and Stokes grocery stores where she greeted everyone with a welcome smile. Church was very important to her . She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various callings including the Young Women organization, as a librarian, and her favorite was teaching the little children in Primary. Her children and her grandchildren were everything to her. Last year she and her husband celebrated 51 years of marriage. Her spouse Larry cared for her through many years of poor health and was by her side until her last day.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, of Franklin; her children Jodi Carmichael, of Las Vegas, NV; Kenneth (Michele) Kingsford, of West Jordan, UT; Leslie (Patrick) Curry, of Salt Lake City, UT; and Kellie (Jared) Flippence, of Hyrum, UT; 21 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Gale (Lynn) Moser; Kent (Kathy) Moser; and Monte (Kay) Moser, all of Whitney; ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn baby boy, a stillborn baby girl, a brother Dennis Moser, a sister Joan Nielsen, her parents-in-law Eldon and Blanche Kingsford, and by two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Franklin Stake Center, 106 East Main in Franklin. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
