Marlene Christensen

Mink Creek, Idaho- Marlene Winn Christensen, 80, passed away Nov. 27, 2015 at her home in Mink Creek.  She was born July 21, 1935 in Winder, Idaho to Marvin James Winn and Sarah Eldora Stone.  Her parents divorced and her mother took her three brothers to live with her grandparents, Joseph & Annie Stone in Cub River. 

Marlene lived on the farm for six years until her mother married L. Richard Jensen, who had three children and she moved with her mother and youngest brother and step siblings to Preston, Idaho.  She graduated from Preston High School in 1954.  She worked at Anderson Lumber and for IFA for many years. 

She married Orvid Christensen on April 27, 1969, in Elko, Nevada.  They settled on his family farm in Mink Creek, Idaho.  A nephew, Chad Greene and his wife, Dawnell moved to Mink Creek and Marlene became grandmother to their six wonderful children.  Marlene’s artistic abilities will be remembered in her oil paintings, her beautiful crocheted items and her thoughtful poetry.  She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by two brothers, Wayne Winn and Garth (Vicky) Winn; and by one sister, Diane (Gary) Nelson.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Rhoda and Harriet Christensen; a step sister, Harriet Evola; a step brother, Nelson Jensen; a half brother, Rick Winn and by many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, a brother, Darrell Winn; a sister-in-law, Shirley Winn and by a step brother, LeRoy Jensen. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the Mink Creek Ward Chapel with Bishop Kurt Iverson conducting.  Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 8^th East, Preston, Idaho and Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be in the Mink Creek Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
