Mark Leslie Williams was born to Jerry (Gerald) and Joyce Williams in Brigham City, Utah in January of 1966. Mark grew up in what he would call the greatest town on earth, Bear River City, Utah. Mark has many fond memories of playing next-door at his Grandma Ada’s house with his cousins, riding his horses, and going camping to Brownie Lake. One of his favorite events was going to Bear Lake for the annual Williams family reunion. Mark served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which increased his testimony of Jesus Christ and God’s plan for us. The day after getting home from his mission he met his sweetheart Kerri Lindman while registering for New Horizon’s, the USU LDS institute choir. They went on their first date to USU homecoming, and the rest is history. The two were married in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple in June of 1989. Mark and Kerri were blessed with four beautiful children throughout the years, Meagan, Hannah, Hayden, and Katie, who have brought them so much joy. There was nothing Mark loved more than going to his kids athletic events. Many a weekend was spent in St. George or Pocatello for ball tournaments. Mark had many great friends, from his high school Taco Time coworkers to his weekly breakfast club. Mark also had a great love of music, he has been in many choirs, musicals, and ironically sang at many funerals throughout his life. He especially loved Christmas music, which he started listening to the day after Halloween every year. Over the last 7 years of his life Mark was privileged to have worked with the Providence young single adult ward, where he served on the high council and in the bishopric. He loved serving in this calling and came to love many of the young single adults he got to serve with, he also got to see all of his kids come through the ward during this time. Mark was diagnosed with stage IV cancer of the bile duct and liver in August of 2024. The cancer was advanced and aggressive and unfortunately took his life after only a few short months. Mark was the embodiment of love. During his last few weeks on earth Mark wanted everyone to know how much he loved them and how important it is to love one another.
Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce and father Jerry (Gerald) Williams, brother Craig Williams, father-in-law Jerry (Gerald) Lindman, and brother-in-law Nathan Lindman. He was excited to be able to spend his birthday this year with his mom. Mark is survived by the love of his life Kerri, children Meagan, Hannah, Hayden (Saige), and Katie, as well as his brothers Gary (Debbie) Williams, Chad (Tifani) Williams, sister-in-law Deanne Williams, mother-in-laws Patricia (Gary) Hayes and Sue Lindman, sister-in-law Krissy (Ryan) Clare, and brothers-in-law Abraham (Kristen) Lindman, Dave (Katerina) Lindman, Mike (Natalie) Lindman, and Matt Finn.
Our family would like to thank all the healthcare workers, family, and friends who have helped us through these last few months. You have brought us peace and sunshine through this difficult time.
