HOLLIDAY, UTAH Mark Perry Shumway

Mark passed away on Sunday, August 05, 2012. He was born in Treasureton, Idaho to Earl Hymas and Thelma Perry Shumway. He graduated from Utah State University in Electrical Engineering. He served a mission to the Western Canadian Mission from 1948 to 1950. After returning from his mission he enlisted in the Air Force. He married Wilma Waddoups on October 17, 1951 in the Logan, Utah Temple.
Mark started a successful engineering business in 1973. He was well known for his generosity and especially enjoyed helping people find affordable cars. He was active in the LDS church and served in various ward and stake callings. Mark enjoyed serving, as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple for 14 years.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma, his children, Janice Harmon (O.J.), Dixon Shumway (Cindy), Deanne, Kent (Julie), Tracy, 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by children Charles Kenneth Shumway, Mark Perry Shumway Jr., and Michael Paul Shumway.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley View 9th Ward LDS Church, 4101 South 1925 East, Holladay, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the church and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will be in the Franklin Idaho Cemetery.
