SMITHFIELD, UTAH MARIE GRIFFITHS
Marie Hansen Griffiths, 74, of Smithfield, Utah and former Logan resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by family March 18, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. Marie was born July 12, 1936 to John Elmer and Bernice Saunders Hansen.
She lived her childhood in Smithfield. Marie attended school in Smithfield, UT and graduated from North Cache High School. Marie married Robert A. (Bud) Griffiths May 23, 1958 in the Logan LDS Temple. Bud and Marie had three children.
Marie loved camping with Bud and her family. Some of her favorite places to go camping were Yellowstone Park, Tony Grove and Beaver Creek. She enjoyed crafting, tole painting and crocheting. Most of her creations she gave away to family and friends. Marie loved to spend time with her husband Bud and together they always could find something that they enjoyed. Mom was the definition of a great mother, the best of grandmothers, a special great grandmother, and friend to many.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held many church callings, including Primary President, Stake Primary President, Relief Society President, and visiting teacher.
Marie was preceded in death by her father John Elmer Hansen, and husband Robert A. (Bud) Griffiths.
Marie is survived by her Mother, Bernice Saunders Hansen (Logan, Utah), Son, R. Tyler and Kathy Griffiths (River Heights, UT), Son, Kyle J. and Tami Griffiths (Smithfield, UT), Daughter, Lori and D. Scott Bunnell (Midvale, UT),12 Grand Children, and 11 Great-Grand Children.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to her neighbors, health care providers, and to her life-long friend Faye Jensen for her love and care.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at noon in the Smithfield South Stake Center, 451 S. 250 E.. Smithfield with Bishop Peter Krusi conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 S. Main, Smithfield and Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the stake center. Services are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home of Preston. Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
