Vernetta Sant, 94, of Treasureton, Idaho, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016. She was born in Logan, Utah on Feb. 25, 1922, to Nevada and Mary Larsen of Glencoe, Idaho. She grew up in Glencoe where her father farmed. She loved helping her Dad and Mom on the farm and had a love for the animals there. She especially loved horses and became a very accomplished rider.
She attended grade school in Glencoe but when it came time for high school she had to rent a room in Preston to attend school there. Dancing was a popular activity at that time and many couples met at the local dances. Ray and Vernetta met at the Persiana Dance Hall and danced through 73 years together. Along the way they had three children and maintained a farm and ranch. She was a member of the LDS Church and held many positions in the church in Treasureton and later Riverdale.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Dale Larsen and by a son, Philip, and most recently her husband Ray. She is survived by a son, Steve, of Treasureton; a daughter, Darla of River Heights, Utah and by a granddaughter, Stephanie, of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at noon in the Riverdale Second Ward Chapel with Bishop Shawn Knutson conducting. Friends may call Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Treasureton Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Beckstead, The Heritage Home and the Franklin County Medical Center for the care they gave our precious mother.
