Fairview, Idaho - - - Marian M. Bodily
Fairview - Marian Louise Meek Bodily, 80, passed through the veil peacefully at home on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, surrounded by her husband and children. Marian was born April 16, 1933, at the family home in Preston, Idaho. She was the second of three children born to Jerald and Maude Meek.
As a child growing up, Marian spent many summers in the hills of Cottonwood Canyon where her parents raised sheep. Her school years in Preston were filled with music and sports activities. She married her high school friend, Cleve Jamison Bodily, on July 10, 1953, in the Logan LDS Temple. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She is the mother of nine lucky children. She cherished her life on the farm, working tirelessly side by side with Cleve. She taught her children by example how to work hard and enjoy the journey. Her entire life was dedicated to her family, friends, and the gospel. Her children and grandchildren consider her one of the strongest, most spiritual, funny, and loving women they know.
Marian was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life and served diligently in many auxiliaries. She especially enjoyed teaching the children in Primary, serving the young women as girls' camp leader for 17 years, and most recently transcribing patriarchal blessings for her husband. She took great pride in her yard and flower gardens and enjoyed music, reading, family history, and crocheting. She was an avid sports fan and loved supporting the sporting activities of her grandchildren. She had a profound love and respect for her pioneer ancestry and enjoyed being associated with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Marian lived her life as a true disciple of Christ. She is the epitome of selfless love. She will be known for her quiet acts of service that were felt by everyone.
Marian is survived by her husband, Cleve, and children Susan (Rob), Christine (Mike), Jill, Tracy (Lylene), Karen (Jerry), Steven (Rhonda), Allyson (Clint), Darren (Jenna), Robyn (Trevor) and sister, Jeraldine (Boyd) Phillips.
