Clifton, Idaho - - - - M. June Gailey

Clifton - Margaret June Bergquist Gailey, age 86, died at her home in Clifton, Idaho, on October 20, 2012, of natural causes. Born June 13, 1926, to Edward and Serena (Jensen) Bergquist, she graduated from Preston High School in 1944. During the war years, June worked as a waitress and as a secretary for a law office. She married Gordon A Gailey on July 12, 1946, in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple.

Following her wedding, June lived her entire life in Clifton and devoted herself to creating a home for her husband and children. After rearing her children, June worked for many years as a teacher's aide at Clifton Elementary School where she helped many students improve their reading skills. June was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Primary President, Relief Society President, and counselor in the Stake Relief Society Presidency.

June will be especially remembered for her practicality and pragmatism. She could adapt to and thrive in any situation. Having lived through the Great Depression and World War II, she knew the value of a dollar and excelled at home food production and preservation. Her careful husbanding of the family's resources permitted her and Gordon to finance and build the family home without taking on any mortgage debt.

Survivors include her children, Nancy (Jim) Kimball of Fruitland, UT; John (Trenna) Gailey of Clifton, ID; Neil (Lori) Gailey of Long Beach, CA; and Klark (Terri) Gailey of Cove, UT. Additionally she is survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren as well as her brothers Leon Bergquist of Idaho, Ralph Bergquist of Utah, Max Bergquist of California, and Gordon Bergquist of Nevada;. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Carol; her parents and her siblings, Gwendolyn, Jesse, Keith, Hyrum, Eleise, and Roma; and her grandson, Corey Kimball.

Services will be held on Friday October 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Clifton Second Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Lawrell Cook conducting. A viewing will be held prior to the services on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Clifton Second Ward meeting house. Interment will be in the Clifton Cemetery.
