Preston - Magdaleno "Rick" Lopez Jr., 73, passed away peacefully at his home on January 8, 2015 in Preston, Idaho. He was born on August 20, 1941 in East Chicago, Indiana to Magdaleno Lopez Sr and AnnaMarie Ochoa.  He married Caroly Faye Gittins on December 16, 1977 in Preston, Idaho. 

Rick served his country honorably and was a Vietnam War hero.  Rick loved his family and community.  He worked for and retired from the local Post Office after 25 years of dedicated service. 

He is survived by his wife Carolyn, of Preston; his children Brent (Kristie) Lass; Rick K. Hoovater, Anna Marie (Terry) Robinson; Jennifer Jo (Josh) Sinykin; and Jesse Richard (Heather) Lopez, and all of his beloved grandchildren whom Rick loved with all his heart.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Rhonda Lynn Lass, and a grandson Brayde Issaac Gustin. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 East 100 South in Preston.  A viewing will be held on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center.  Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston.
