RICHMOND, UTAH Mada Monson Larsen, 96, former Preston, Idaho resident, slipped into eternity on July 11, 2008, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Anderson.She was born Dec. 23, 1911, in Preston, Idaho, the second of ten children born to Alma and Ena Peterson Monson. She spent her first seven years in Bancroft, Idaho, then moved with the family to Preston. She resided in Preston until she could no longer live alone, due to declining health.She married Mark Larsen on May 8, 1934, in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. To this union was born four children, JoAnn, Marie, Jay, and Linda. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings well into her 80's. She is remembered for her quilts, embroidery items and needle point pictures. She was an extraordinary cook and canned all sorts of fruits and vegetables each year. She also raised an amazing garden- sharing their famous green beans with one and all. Mada was a beautiful soul- loving, kind and compassionate with a quick wit and fun sense of humor.She is survived by two daughters and one son, Marie Jensen of Boise, Idaho; Jay (Lana) Larsen of Las Vegas, Nevada; Linda (Richard) Anderson of Richmond; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild; a son-in-law, Joe (Wanda) Seeley of Kaysville, Utah; by Mary Ellen (Ronald) Arbon of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and by four sisters, Dean Edwards, Connie Rawlings, Barbara Rinderknecht, and Cleone Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark, by a daughter, JoAnn, her parents, a son-in-law, Max Jensen, two sisters, Louise and Norma, and by three brothers, Dale, Rheal, and Garth.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Richmond 4th Ward Chapel, 150 S. 1st E., Richmond, with Bishop Jason Crafts conducting. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, Idaho, and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
