Lyle B Christensen

Mink Creek, Idaho - - - Lyle B. Christensen

Mink Creek - On a beautiful fall afternoon, Lyle returned to the loving arms of his sweetheart RuthAnn. He passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 in the Franklin County Medical Center after a short illness. He was born on March 28, 1942, to Carl Harvey and Lenna Barrington Christensen. He graduated from Preston High School in 1960. On May 10, 1963 he married RuthAnn Jensen in the Logan LDS Temple. Lyle and RuthAnn raised their four children on their farm in Mink Creek.

Life on the farm wasn't always easy but he met his challenges head on. He was raised on the farm and always enjoyed the farm. He enjoyed being outside taking care of the animals.
He started trading livestock at an early age with his father and he found out he was really good at it. He made his living brokering anything with four legs. Although he mainly traded sheep, if it had four legs and a tail he could trade it. His work involved a lot of traveling, whenever possible RuthAnn accompanied him. This is where their love of travelling began. They have travelled all over this country and to many other countries, including Denmark and Norway where his grandparents were born. Nothing brought a smile to his face faster than his grandsons, they have been one of his greatest joys. He loved their visits, especially when they helped him with the animals. He loved passing on his knowledge of livestock, and there was a lot of knowledge to pass on.

Lyle is survived by his four children Julie (Jim) Cooper, Preston, Lyla Dettmer, Preston, Phillip J. (Krysta) Christensen, Mink Creek, Bryan Lyle Christensen, Mink Creek; his six grandsons Andrew, Kyle, Carson, Jett, Alex, and Bracken. He is also survived by his siblings Raeone (Brad) Steuart, Vance (Connie) Christensen, Vachele (Jay) Higbee, Forrest (Patti) Christensen, LaMoyne (Gary) Jeppson and Danita (Eldon) Wilcox. He is preceded in death by the love of his life Ruthann, his parents and his grandson Daniel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mink Creek LDS Chapel with Bishop Kent Egley conducting. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, in Preston and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church in Mink Creek.
