There is no need for sadness or condolences. LuRae Chapman lived for a long 88 years and had a very peaceful transition into the next life, which she was mentally and spiritually ready for.
LuRae Hall Chapman, age 88, passed from this life on October 31st, 2024.
LuRae was born May 19th, 1936, in Fairview, Idaho to Burtis Roy and Leta Hyde Hall, the second of five children.
She graduated from Preston High in 1954 and attended BYU.
She married Paul Dean Chapman on February 14th, 1959, later divorced. Two children were born to this union, Michael Paul Chapman and Jacqueline Chapman Graham.
LuRae was a very talented seamstress and cookie maker, which her beloved grandchildren will always remember her for. Even after her grandchildren were grown, they could not wait to get their box of Christmas cookies she would send every year. She loved dressing up to go ballroom dancing, which she did almost every week most of her adult life. Later in life she learned that she had quite a talent for ceramic making as well.
LuRae is survived by both of her children, 3 granddaughters, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, also her sister Margaret (Terry) Spencer and brother Burnell (Darlene) Hall, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, brothers Reed and Eugene, and grandson Jacy Lewis.
A memorial will be held November 16th, 2024, at 11:00am at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E. Preston, Idaho with interment after at the Burtis Hall family plot in the Fairview, Idaho cemetery under direction of Webb Funeral Home.
