Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Lou Stoddard Jeppson, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Mink Creek, Idaho. A daughter of John Izatt Stoddard and Loa Lyman, she was born on August 24, 1928 in Baker City, Oregon, the 3rd of 4 sisters, all of whom preceded her in death.
As a child, Lou grew up in the Salt Lake City area and graduated from East High School in 1945. She attended Brigham Young University for two years until her marriage, but continued a lifetime of learning.
Lou met Jay Herald Jeppson, a Navy Veteran at BYU. They were married September 26, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jay's work took them to many places including moves to California, Idaho, Michigan, Alaska and eventually returning to Utah. Everywhere they were she created a gracious and peaceful home. She was a talented artist and seamstress, and shared her talents with others. Always an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was a gifted leader and teacher in all auxiliaries, particularly in Relief Society where she served as Relief Society President in many Wards and Stakes. She especially loved her calling as a temple ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah Temple.
She was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by Jay, her husband of 71 years, as well as her daughters JoAnn (Drew) Ford, of ID; and Barbara (Harvey) Tidball, of FL and her son David J. Jeppson of ID, 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren all of whom she cherished.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bountiful 39th Ward Chapel at 500 East and 1500 South in Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday from 10:00-10:45 at the church. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
