Weston, Idaho Lois D. Bartholomew
Weston - Lois May Durrant Bartholomew, 90, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at her home in Weston, Idaho. She was born on May 30, 1920 in Provo, Utah to John Henry and Ida Alice Peay Durrant. She married Lee Bartholomew on May 21, 1941 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
Lois loved quilting, and rug making. She shared these with those she loved. She loved to give readings in her younger years. She spent her life finding ways to serve others. Her friends and loved ones could never visit her without her sharing with them. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Stake Relief Society and Primary, Primary and Relief Society President, teacher in all auxiliaries, Ward Librarian, Stake Missionary, and a Temple Worker in the Provo and Logan Temples.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years Lee Bartholomew, of Weston; children Max A. (Linda) Bartholomew, of Weston; John R. (Debra) Bartholomew, of Ogden, UT; Lee Ann (Terry) Orton, of Preston, ID; Joyce Memmott (John) Dublan, Chih, Mexico; Guy Lynn (Lori) Bartholomew of Wellsville, UT; and Mary Sue (Kevin) Sharp, of Idaho Falls, ID; 51 grandchildren, 130 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, a daughter-in-law Rebecca L. Bartholomew, of Lehi, UT; and a sister-in-law Winnifred Durrant of Provo, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Douglas Bartholomew, a grandson Kevin Scott Sharp, brothers Clarence and Sterling Durrant, and sisters Inez, Leona, Melva, Ida, Ruby, Florence, and Helen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Weston LDS chapel with Bishop Blaine Buttars conducting. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home 1005 South 800 East in Preston, and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church in Weston.
