Lloyd Sylvester Checketts

Preston, Idaho Lloyd S. CheckettsPreston - Lloyd Sylvester Checketts, 89, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 in Burley, Idaho at the Cassia Regional Hospital. He was born June 30, 2008 1918 in Logan, Utah to Charles Heber and Josephine Hilda Windberg Checketts. He married Elsie Jensen Greaves on February 23, 1945 in the Logan, Temple. She preceded him in death on March 31, 1996. He later married Marjorie Standerfor in February of 2000. Lloyd always enjoyed working. He grew up on a farm in his youth and continued to farm throughout his life. He began working for the Amalgamated Sugar Company in 1956 and worked for them in some capacity until 2007. He is survived by his wife Marjorie, three sons, L. Brent Checketts, of Paradise, UT; T. Craig (Julie) Checketts, of Eden, UT; and C. Brad (Nan) Checketts, of Paradise, UT; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren; and a step brother Mel Weeks. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elsie, two sisters Ada and Ruby; a half sister Geraldine, and a step brother Vern Weeks. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston South Stake Center 55 East 1st South in Preston, with Bishop Jason Travis conducting. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho.
