Lloyd “Buzz” Balls passed away after a life well lived on February 22, 2025. He was born on November 7, 1932 in Dayton, ID to LaVere and Annie Leone Kresie Balls. He spent his childhood years working on the family farm on Balls Avenue. After graduation from West Side High School where he was active in football and boxing,he attended autobody training in Pocatello, ID.
He married his high school sweetheart Arlene Hulet on October 17, 1952, in the Logan LDS Temple. Shortly after their marriage he was drafted to serve in the Korean War. He worked for McCune Motors Auto Body Department for 17 years. Mom and Dad worked as a team and were able to start a successful business, Buzz’s Glass and Auto Body in 1970.
They were the definition of unconditional love, and spent their time together traveling, camping, snowmobiling, golfing, and in service to their families and their faith. In addition to his compassionate service to others, Dad’s passion was auto body work. Outside of his many years of highly reputable work in the industry he spent endless hours restoring 7 classic cars as a hobby.
They loved serving a mission together in San Francisco, CA and worked two early mornings each week at the Logan LDS Temple for 10 years. Dad touched many lives in his service as a Bishop, High Counselor, and as a Stake Patriarch for 18 years. He also served many years in Scouting which earned him the Silver Beaver Award.
