Lenna Boyce Roper

PRESTON, IDAHO LENNA B. ROPER

PRESTON- Our dear mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend was called home by a loving Heavenly Father on July 28, 2011, to be reunited with her eternal companion, Wesley Thedford Roper, whom she married in the Logan Temple on July 1, 1936.

She was born in Oxford, Idaho on Dec. 13, 1917, to Leander and Maude Davis Boyce. She was the third of six children. She was raised in Oxford on a farm and became an accomplished gardener, seamstress, cook and a giving person. She enjoyed her school days in Oxford and graduated from Downey High School. She played basketball, loved to dance, sang in school programs, was vice president of the studentbody and was voted the most popular girl.

She loved the Lord and had a strong testimony of His gospel. She was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served with honor in many ward and stake positions. She spent a lifetime of service in the church. She enjoyed being an ordinance worker at the Logan Temple and served a mission in 1990 in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. Her service always brought her a great peace and joy which continually enriched her testimony.

She is survived by her children, Ted (Dana) Roper of Salt Lake City, Utah ; Doug (Lynne) Roper of Preston; Shawna Lee Roper of Salt Lake City, Utah; LaNae (Earl) Bolton of Salt Lake City, Utah ; by eleven grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren (and two on the way); her siblings, June Humphries of Elko, Nevada ; and James D. (Nellie) Boyce of Oxford, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; by her parents, a brother, Ronald, two sisters, Jeanette and LaVerle and by a grandson, Blake.

Even though we are saddened with mom's passing, we have been enriched because she loved us and taught us and was a wonderful example to all who knew her. Mom was easy to love and exemplified the pure love of Christ daily. She will be truly missed.

We are honoring her life with a funeral service on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston Tenth Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd W., Preston, Idaho with Bishop Lynn Eskelson conducting. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new facility, 1005 South 800 East, Preston and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
