Weston, Idaho - - - Lee B. Bartholomew
Weston - Lee Berns Bartholomew returned home to his Heavenly Father and the waiting arms of his sweetheart, Lois on July 19, 2010. Lee was born January 8, 1916, on a homestead in Fayette, Utah to George Marston and Charlotte Berner Bartholomew. He was the fifth of 10 children. The family moved to Springville, Utah in 1930. He married Lois May Durrant of Provo, Utah in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 21, 1941.
He built the family home in Mapleton, Utah in 1954, where they resided for 30 years. For 37 years he worked at the Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Co. in Provo, Utah. Lee was an active member of the LDS Church and was dedicated and faithfully served in many church callings. Lee enjoyed carpentry work, fishing, hunting, gardening and helping others. Upon retiring Lee and Lois served for four years as ordinance workers in the Provo LDS Temple. After building their current home in Weston, Idaho in 1984, they served in the Logan LDS Temple for several years.
Lee is survived by his children Max A. (Linda) Bartholomew, of Weston, ID; John R. (Debra) Bartholomew , of Ogden, Utah; LeeAnn (Terry) Orton, of Preston, ID; Joyce Memmott ( John)of Dublan Chih, Mexico; Guy L. (Lori) of Wellsville, Utah; Mary Sue (Kevin) Sharp of Idaho Falls, ID; a Daughter in Law Rebecca L. Bartholomew of Lehi, Utah; 51 grandchildren; 134 great Grandchildren; One great, great grandchild; Brother Roy Mark (Ruth)Bartholomew of Mapleton, UT.; Sister Gertrude Smith of Orem, UT; sisters-in-law Carol Bartholomew of South Jordan, UT; Fawn (Reed)Burnett of American Fork, UT; brother-in-law Zane (Jan) Asay of Sandy, UT. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years who passed away July 7, 2010; his parents; his son Douglas Bartholomew, grandson Kevin Scott Sharp, sisters Marie Larsen, Virga Page, Grace Roberts, Helen Crawford and Edna Gourley; brothers Ben Bartholomew and John Grant Bartholomew.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Weston LDS Chapel with Bishop Blaine Buttars conducting. A Viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church in Weston.
