Lee Evelyn Allen

In Preston, Idaho on Wednesday, September 17th, Lee Evelyn Evans Allen went home to be with her family and friends who have gone before.  Born on November 4, 1937 in San Francisco, California to Fern Eileen Wade and David Lee Evans who unfortunately passed away prior to her birth.

Lee was raised in San Francisco and in July of 1955 married Edward Deming.   They had a daughter whom she raised on her own after a divorce.  She worked hard and made a great life for her daughter.

In 1976 she met Jim Allen and they were married in Sacramento, California on October 13, 1979.  When they married she became step-mother to 4 more children.  Lee was a member of Mensa and worked at Sacramento County until her retirement in 2005.

She moved to Preston, Idaho in 2008 and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary which she loved.

She loved to play cribbage and scrabble and was in several cribbage tournaments.  She loved the ocean, mountains, waterfalls, mountain lions, and rainbows.  One of her favorite sayings was “Live well, Laugh often, Love much” and anyone who knew her will know that she truly lived her life that way.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Joan Kleczka, and her son Kenneth Allen.

She is survived by her husband Jim Allen, daughters Catherine Deming-Allen, Patty Allen-Carlon, and Tammy Cameron, son Phillip Allen, sister and brother-in-law, Scott and Barbara Eichhorst, granddaughters, Shalyn Compean, Valerie Schatz, Susan Baker, Leah Cameron-Correa, Splaressa Needham, grandsons Timothy Wilson, Christopher Baker, Matthew Orpesa, Garreth Allen, Jon Allen, and 14 Great-Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 11am – 1pm.  Afterward there will be a gathering for friends and family from 2 – 5pm at 103 So. 3rd East, Preston, ID.

Special thanks go out to the staff at Franklin County Medical Center Transitional Care unit, for the care and compassion that you showed Mom.   It was appreciated more than you will ever know.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
