Leah Mae Cornia

Leah Mae Groll Cornia, beloved wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and cherished friend passed away peacefully on November 1, 2014 in Logan, Utah.  Leah was born on July 10, 1932 in Randolph, Utah to George and Ila Groll.   She was raised in Randolph where she learned to appreciate the value of hard work.  At a young age she was always by her mother's side helping to earn extra money by cleaning homes, wallpapering and learning to be an excellent cook.  She graduated from Rich High School in Randolph, Utah.

Leah married the love of her life Jerry Cornia on November 23, 1951 in Randolph, Utah.  They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, LDS Temple on July 20, 1965.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.  She took each one of her callings to heart.  She had a strong testimony of the gospel.

Leah owned and operated a grocery store in Weston, Idaho with her husband.  She later went to work ad Presto and retired after 20 years there.  She cherished the great friendships she made while working there.  Family was Leah's most important thing in life.  She supported them no matter the activity.  Sunday family dinner was  a huge tradition for Leah and her family.  She would prepare a wonderful meal every Sunday for the whole bunch.  Nobody can beat "grandma's famous roast and homemade potatoes and gravy."  The family will never forget their Sunday dinners together.

Leah was a strong lady having face many trials, cancer twice, a broken hip, and suffering a massive stroke.  The last 10 years were not easy for her but she fought and never once would complain.  She went about her days with a smile on her face.

She is survived by her five children Jerrilee (Richard) Barson, of Clarkston, UT; Rod (Vivian) Cornia, of Weston, ID; Kyle (Sherrie) Cornia, of Salt Lake City, UT; Kevin (Nancy) Cornia, of Smithfield, UT; Sandy Cornia, of Logan, UT; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren with two more on the way.  She is also survived by a sister, and four brothers.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Jerry and some brothers and sisters in law.
