Larry Jan Seamons, 74, passed away on Oct. 31, 2014 at the Franklin County Medical Center after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He was born March 8, 1940, in Fairview, Idaho the son of Allen Russell and Edna Elizabeth Egbert Seamons.
He worked on his parents farm in the sugar beets, hay and grain fields. He worked for the Franklin County Sugar Factory for many years. He cooked the juice for sugar and also stacked 5,10,25 & 100 lb. bags of sugar. He worked at a cabinet making place for several years and for Anderson Coach and Utah Mobile Homes making cabinets. He also worked for Cove Concrete and then for Parson’s Ready-Mix driving a cement truck for several years.
Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and driving his cars and trucks. He was a great help to everyone in need and he always had a smile for everybody.
He is survived by his two sisters and a brother, Cassie Elizabeth Seamons of Preston; Diane (Merlin) Weeks of Lewiston, Utah; Roger J. (Jean) Seamons of Treasureton, Idaho; and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, by a sister, Betty Lou Golightly and by two brothers, Allen Clair and Boyd Niel Seamons.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at noon in the Fairview First Ward Chapel with Bishop Kip Rawlings conducting. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 8th East, Preston, Idaho and Thursday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
