Larry E. Hone, 74, of Sacramento, Calif., a native of Preston, Idaho, passed away March 9, 2015. Larry was born November 18, 1940, to Holley Eugene and Fanny (Early) Hone in Preston, Idaho. He graduated from Preston High School in 1959 and from Utah State University in 1964.
Larry was a loving, patient, and caring husband, father, school teacher, and tax preparer. He enjoyed a life of service in the LDS church as Bishop, bishop’s counselor, high councilor, and youth leader, the calling he truly loved best. He was a loving influence to all who knew him. An avid water-skiier all of his life, he freely shared his passion with others, teaching hundreds to water-ski. He was a master showman on the water as a trick-skier and wake-skater till the end of his life.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife and sweetheart Sharen Rawlings Hone, by his parents, his brothers William, Jerry, Cleon, and his sister Doris (Dale) Leatham. Larry is survived by his children: Sheri (Jeffrey) Nothelphim, Jeff (Becki) Hone, Kimber Hone, Kalvan (Miki) Hone, Kelton (Zeba) Hone, his 18 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Keith Hone.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston LDS North Stake Center, 310 N. State Street, Preston, Idaho. A viewing will be held Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E., in Preston and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will follow at the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 11:00 a.m., LDS chapel, 6450 Walerga Road, North Highlands, CA, 95660.
