LaRae Halverson Gibbons

On Tuesday, April 8, ,2025, LaRae Halverson Gibbons, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away from an unexpected illness, at the age of 76. LaRae was born on November 25, 1948, in Billings Montana to Delbert and Cleone Halverson. She was a graduate of Sky View High School, where she fell in love with her sweetheart, Joseph Wynn Gibbons. They were married on September 13th, 1968 in the Logan LDS temple. They are the proud parents of four children; Maquel Hawkes ( Troy ) of St. George Utah, Brett Gibbons ( Katie ) of Lewiston Utah, Brooks Gibbons, deceased, and Josie Murdock ( Corey ) of Lewiston Utah.

LaRae was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served faithfully within the young women’s and relief society organizations. She also served an LDS Mission with her husband in the Colorado, Denver North Mission.

One of her favorite places to be was on the sidelines or bleachers of her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was always willing to support them whenever possible. Until her husband Wynn passed away, time spent on a long drive, or a quick ride through the sand on their side by side, was something they never grew tired of. As long as they were together! On Tuesday afternoon, she was by his side once again, both rejoicing with their son Brooks, whom they have missed for 25 years. We are certain she is filled with joy.

LaRae is preceded in death by her parents Delbert and Cleone Halverson, sister Marva Bell, husband Wynn and son Brooks Gibbons.

She is survived by brother Brent Halverson ( Heather), sister Gaylene Traveler ( Seth ) by 10 grandchildren;McCoy Henrie ( Blaken ), Taylor Hicks ( David ), Ryatt Hawkes, Bayley Hatch ( Andrew ), Brinkley Smith ( Cole ), Delaney Gibbons, Zack Gibbons, Parker Murdock ( McKenna ), Tucker Murdock and Skyler Murdock. Great grandchildren; Brooxlie Henrie and Millie Hatch.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 at 11:00 am, in the Lewiston 2nd Ward chapel. ( 10 South 1600 West Lewiston )
A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm and also Tuesday from 9:00-10:30 am, prior to the service. Both viewings and funeral will be held at the 2nd ward church house.
