Whitney, Idaho - - - - Kurtis P. Carter
Whitney - Kurtis Preston Carter, 15, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Whitney, Idaho. He was born on July 12, 1996 in Kanab, Utah to Donald Alan and Debra Kay Thomas Carter.
Kurtis loved music and he loved playing his banjo. He was currently attending Preston High School and enjoyed school and friends. He was currently performing in the community play Guys and Dolls. Kurtis loved caring for his pets and he had several over the years. He will be missed by Maddie, (his dog) and Mouse (his cat). Kurtis's sense of humor was wry and witty - he was a source of joy to his family and he will be missed very much.
He is survived by his parents Donald and Debra Carter, of Whitney, ID; siblings Charles T. Carter, of Logan, UT; Christopher A. Carter, of Kanab, UT; Sarah A. (Benjamin) Joslin, of Las Vegas, NV; and Joshua D. Carter, of Whitney, ID; a grandmother Merla Thomas, of Hyde Park, UT; and Betty Carter of Arlington, TX.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Whitney 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 1444 South 1600 East with Bishop Eric Jensen conducting. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Whitney LDS Church and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery, in Hyde Park, Utah at approximately 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston.
