Kristine Pitcher Price

Kristine Pitcher Price, 52, died December 20, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a long illness. We are heartbroken, but grateful she is at peace.Kristine was born September 19, 1972, in Logan, Utah, to Rex Lewis Pitcher and Jane Buttars Pitcher, the second of six children. She was raised in Preston, Idaho. As a child, Kristine wrote darling and thoughtful little books. Later in life, she collected children’s books. She was very studious and created personalized curricula for her younger siblings when she was only a child herself. She was an excellent cook, often cooking for her siblings, and made the best mac and cheese. She and her siblings would explore the 13-acre “pipeyard” behind their home, dragging a wagon behind them, and it felt like they were on an archeological dig in a foreign land.She graduated from Preston High School in 1990 and Utah State University in 1996 with bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Family and Human Development.Kristine was goal oriented, tenacious, and ardently driven for success. Her meticulous organization and dynamic leadership skills helped her break through the glass ceiling in the 1990’s dotcom era. After college, she began her career at Tek Systems, where she connected clients with high-profile corporate careers in technology and engineering at some of the largest companies in the world. She later became the State Director of Branch Operations leading Tek Systems Sales Managers and Recruiters. Her clients, including her three brothers, felt she had a vested interest in their success. She freely shared her business and financial management knowledge. Through her efforts, countless men and women had their first opportunity for successful careers with upward movement.She traveled the world, particularly Europe and Hawaii. Italy was a favorite. She loved her luxury brands, jewelry, and sparkling water, but held tightly to particular sentimental items that had no monetary value. She was well-dressed and adored her hair, makeup, and skincare routines. She purchased her dream home and decorated it in her favorite Tuscan style. She always maintained a beautiful, welcoming home.Kristine married Scott Price on March 31, 2000, in Sandy, Utah. They later divorced. They are parents to Devin and Sienna, the people Kristine loved most in the world. When Kristine was at the height of her career and not even 40, she retired to be a full-time mother. She cooked gourmet baby food for her children when they were little to give them the very best. She actively volunteered her time at their elementary school and she always said the most exciting part of her day was being able to welcome her kids home from school. Sienna enjoyed going for drives with her mom and getting ice cream. Devin sweetly cared for his mother in her final days.Kristine was always very giving to others. She would find a need and fill it, regardless of expense. She donated her time and resources to several charities, particularly the Junior League, and local law enforcement organizations.She had a gift of connecting with people: she knew no stranger, and many benefitted from her gracious presence. Her sense of humor was always on point: she could trade wits with the best and was always ready with a funny or sarcastic response. She was a great friend and maintained several multi-decade friendships. Kristine loved entertaining and opening her home to friends and family, and she was always a gracious host. People loved her Superbowl party and Derby Day hat party, but her holiday cookie party was one of her favorites. She supported women artisans by hosting and attending small events where their wares were sold. Her family recalls laughing together on her back deck watching the sunset, and no one left empty-handed. Family Thanksgiving was served on her precious wedding china, which was a duplicate of her beloved grandmother’s wedding china.Kristine is survived by her children, her stepson, Bradley, her parents, her siblings Paul, Diane, Douglas, and David, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister Rosanna, and her nephew Decklan.A memorial service will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10 am.
