Knute Edward Lund

Knute Edward Lund, 63, died in Idaho Falls at the Life Care Center from complications of Parkinson’s and Pneumonia on June 7, 2017. Knute was born December 27, 1953 to Leonard Baker Lund and Freida Rage Lund in Preston, Idaho. He grew up on a farm east of Preston and graduated from Preston High School. He served an LDS mission from 1973-1975 in Oslo, Norway. Knute is a college graduate of Utah State University. He married Janette Page Lund on December 12, 1975. They are the parents of 6 children. They lived in Cache Valley, Columbia Missouri, and then moved to Rexburg, Idaho in 1988. He taught special education in Sugar Salem and Shelley, Idaho. He also taught the special education summer program in St. Anthony. Knute was actively involved in the scouting program and he earned his Silver Beaver. He loved woodworking and specialized in building backyard storage sheds and picnic tables.

In 2004 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. For the last 5 years he lived in care centers in the Idaho Falls area.

Knute is survived by his children Layne Lund of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Murri Lund and 2 children of Rexburg, Idaho, Nicholas and Zina Lund and 4 children of Fort Worth, Texas, Orlan and Corteiga Lund and 3 children of Payson, Utah, Ila and Cameron Busch and 2 children of Iona, Idaho, and Haylee and Dustin Broadhead and 2 children of Dublin, California. Siblings: Margret and Leo Gessel, Kay and Rex Clark, Dennis, Jerry and Lori Lund, Ira and Alicia, and J. Linda Lund. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charley Lund, a sister Rhea Schenk, and a grandson Skyelar Lund.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral home in Preston, Idaho 1005 South 800 East in Preston, Idaho. A viewing will be held Monday from 2:00-2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
