Kirk "Butch" Dean Hull

Our loving father, Kirk Dean “Butch” Hull, a great man and great machine operator, has done his time here on earth and is now continuing his legacy by further building the kingdom of heaven. Butch passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved on Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Preston, Idaho following a short illness. After sparring with and cheating death multiple times, he finally gets to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Butch was born on October 6, 1951 in Logan, UT to Harold “Tom” Hull and Hannah “Ann” Kirk Hull and grew up on a farm in Whitney, ID. He served a mission to the Sioux Indians in the Dakotas. He loved sharing the joy of the gospel and building strong friendships with the people he taught and was even adopted into a Native American family. He married his sweetheart, Barbara Ann Buckner, on October 27, 1978 and they had six children. Butch enjoyed operating heavy equipment, mining, old tractors, teaching his children to work hard, and good adventures. He not only studied and shared the gospel of Jesus Christ often, he devoted his life to it.

He worked on the Rodeo Circuit as a professional rodeo clown and bull fighter, earned a black belt in Kajukenbo, ran his own business, Hull Construction, and was a friend to everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ann Hull. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Buckner Hull, six children, Bryan (Season) Hull, Tiffany (Nathan) Derr, Becky Jo (Jonathon) Hall, Logan (Mikelle) Hull, Caleb (Spenser) Hull, and Emily (Matthew) Hickey, and 21 much adored grandchildren; three sisters, Judy Kay Hull Orme, MaryAnn (Michael) Jepson, and his twin Jean (Wes) Roundy along with countless friends and extended family.

Butch will always be remembered for his positive outlook, upbeat attitude, heartfelt and exciting storytelling, and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held on December 3, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.  at the Whitney LDS Church located at 1444 S. 1600 E. Preston, ID 83263 A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10:30-11:30 a.m. In honor of our dad Butch, feel free to come dressed in your best overall bibs like he always wore.
