Kenneth Struve Hobbs (80), born August 30,1944 to Leonard Parkinson and Eleanor Struve Hobbs in Preston, Idaho passed away peacefully March 17, 2025, in the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston Idaho.
He joined the national guard after high school, had basic training in Fort Leonard Wood Missouri and schooling in Fort Ord, California. On December 15, 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Karen Lee Klippert in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later sealed in the Logan Utah Temple. They were married for 59 years. They had 3 children Michael, Sheri and Steven.
He enjoyed hunting, camping and the outdoors. He worked for Utah Power & LIght for 32 years living in Kemmerer, Wyoming, Layton, Utah and Preston, Idaho. He really loved cars. He enjoyed traveling by car, boating, snowmobiling and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents- in-law, Myrl and Conna Klippert, by 3 siblings and their spouses; Dorthy (Arvey) Andersen, Leonard Jr. (Opal) Hobbs, Eleanor (Paul) Hansen, by his oldest son, Michael K Hobbs and by several nieces and nephews. He is survived by an older brother Larry (Sondra) Hobbs, of Franklin, ID and a sister Gail Smith (Grant Smith, deceased) of Idaho Falls, ID. He leaves behind his wife, Karen Hobbs of Preston, a daughter in law, Toni Hobbs of North Dakota, a daughter, Sheri (Brady) Weatherly of Aubry Texas, by a son, Steven S (Tracie) of Tremonton Utah, and by 13 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Logan Regional and Franklin County Medical Centers for the care they gave to Ken. It was comforting to the family to know he was being well taken care of while he was there.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Preston First Ward Chapel, 213 S. 2nd E., Preston. Viewings will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. both at the church. Military rites and interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
