Preston, Idaho - - - Kelly C McCarthy (1960-2009)

Idaho-Kelly C McCarthy, 48, passed away August 28, 2009. Kelly was born on September 30, 1960 in San Francisco, California, to Gordon McCarthy and Millie Bodily McCarthy. He lived in Martinez, California until he was 16 years old and then moved with his family to Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. He graduated from Lahainaluna High School in 1979 and owned and operated Kelly's Cabinets for 29 years. After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints in the Rapid City, South Dakota mission Kelly married Jan Renfrow on August 7, 1990 in the Salt Lake City Temple. In the summer of 2004 Kelly and his family moved to Preston, Idaho.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and held numerous church callings. Kelly loved working with wood and could make anything out of it. He enjoyed the outdoors, nature, 4-wheeling, sunsets, birds, Dr. Pepper and having a good time.

Kelly is survived by his wife Jan and their six children, Jesse Bakke of Lahaina, Hawaii; Katie (Kristopher) Larsen of Rupert, Idaho; Laura of Provo, Utah; Ammon, Rebecca and Melanie of Preston, Idaho and a granddaughter; his mother Millie Bodily McCarthy of Preston, Idaho; his father Gordon (Barbara) McCarthy of Oakland, California; three brothers Chris of Reno, Nevada and Dave (Laurie) and Marshall of Lahaina, Hawaii; one sister Raleigh (Harry) of Lahaina, Hawaii; Father and mother-in-law Frank and Jo Ann Renfrow of Emerado, North Dakota; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside ceremony that will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at 11am at the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Idaho.
