Keith Peter Ward

Keith Peter Ward, 71, Richmond, Utah returned home to his Heavenly Father on December 14, 2024, after an extended stay in Intermountain Medical Center, Murray, Utah.

Keith was born on December 28, 1952, to Glen Passey Ward and Carol Elizabeth Cranney Ward in Logan, Utah. He was the fifth of nine children.

He grew up in the small Bear Lake town of Paris, Idaho, surrounded by a loving family whom he has loved dearly all these years. He learned responsibility at a young age. He learned to work hard. He came to understand that a man’s word is his bond; trusting and being trustworthy was extremely important to him. He learned friendship and love.

Keith was educated in the Bear Lake School system and after graduating from Bear Lake High School in 1971 was called and served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in The New England States Mission which included the unique opportunity of coming home from another mission, The Canada-Maritimes Mission. Upon returning, he attended Rick’s College in Rexburg Idaho.

He married Pamela Spackman on April 11, 1975, in the Logan Utah Temple. They have lived in Richmond, Utah for the majority of their marriage. They had 6 children. Twin boys, then Rachel (Stoney) Mattson of Robin, Idaho, Justin (Ashlee) Ward of Valentine, Nebraska, Clint (Leslie) Ward of Chesterfield, Idaho and Russell (Katelin) Ward of Preston, Idaho.

Keith was first employed by Wilson Products Company and then by Interstate Brands Corporation. The friends and colleagues he made there were so dear to his heart. Keith’s first love was working together with his wife and family, farming and raising beef cattle on the Lazy V7 operation.

Keith felt it was the duty and obligation of men in their community in whatever way they could to serve, so he ran and was elected to serve on the Richmond City Council. This was a great learning experience for him and a wonderful opportunity to give something back to the community he loved so much.

Keith was a simple, honest, hardworking man. His greatest loves were his faith and his family. Keith was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Primary, Young Men’s Organization, Elder’s Quorum, as Bishop of the Richmond 4th Ward, as a High Councilor of a Young Single Adult Ward and as a Temple Ordinance Worker.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, father and mother in-law, brothers; Wyn, Kim, Milt, and his twin sons. He is survived by his wife, Pam, their four children and spouses and 13 grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
