Kathryne Louise Lannan Nielsen
Kathryne Louise Lannan Nielsen, 94, passed away on January 15, 2012 in Fort St. James, British Columbia , Canada. Kathryne was born August 25, 1917 in Topeka, Kansas to James Joseph and LaVera Imlay Lannan. She was the second of seven children. On December 24, 1935 she married her sweetheart, Dean. They had many adventures in their lives. They spent their lives in Idaho, Utah and British Columbia, Canada. Together they owned and operated many businesses including an auto repair shop, gold mine, sawmill and hunting and fishing lodge. At one time they ran the largest outfitted area in North America. Kathryne spent most of her life working as a partner alongside her husband. Dean and Kathryne spent 46 happy years together until his passing in 1981. After Dean's passing Kathryne stayed in Fort St. James, living on her own right up to the last few weeks of her life. She was a very intelligent, strong and independent woman. She is survived by her sons, Lanny (Claudia) and James (Miranda), her grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher and Matthew and four great grandsons. She is also survived by her sisters, Marcella Gamble and Georgia Buttars and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Weston, Idaho Cemetery.
