Karen R. Kunz

Karen Roberts Kunz was born 18 July 1942 and died 13 August 2009 of complications from lung cancer. Her parents, Brose H. and Eleanor Roberts, raised her in Delta, Utah. Karen graduated from Utah State University with a degree in elementary education. While there, she met and married Calvin C. Kunz.
Karen worked as an elementary school teacher, but being an elementary school librarian was her passion. Her associations with Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Preston's Friends of the Library brought her joy and many friendships. Karen has always been involved in community organizations including holding various leadership positions in the PTA for her kids' school, callings for the LDS Church, and teaching driver safety for AARP.

Karen's main work in life was raising her three children while living in Roy, Utah. Her six grandchildren brought her pleasure and pride. She enjoyed being a grandmother. Her family will remember her talents for sewing, quilting, genealogy, word games, and reading.
Karen is survived by her husband Calvin C. Kunz (Preston, ID), daughter, Kristina Kunz (Idaho Falls, ID), son, Kevin and Heather Kunz and their four children (Idaho Falls, ID), son, Craig and Callie Kunz and their two children (Preston, ID), brother, Barry H. and Sharon Roberts (Las Vegas, NV).
A viewing will be held at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston on Tuesday, August 18th from 6-8pm. Interment will be at the Logan Cemetery at 9am on Wednesday, August 19th. There will not be a funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or by calling 1-800-ACS-2345.
