Preston, Idaho - - - Karen M. Chaffee
Preston - Karen Marie Larson Chaffee, 99, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born on April 30, 1913 in Fogdo, Sweden, to Harold Axel Larson and Elin Cecelia Ringblom. She immigrated to the United States with her mother and sister in 1918 and they settled in Banida, Idaho with their father. She married Robert Denver Chaffee in 1948 in San Bernardino, California.
Karen always had a love of animals and had a hard time turning away strays. She was a great cook and was always supportive and generous to those in her family. Everyone was always welcome in her home.
She is survived by her son Robert Eugene (Julianna) Chaffee, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; two grandchildren, grandson Bobby and grand daughter Lori, and four great grandchildren Shelby, Brett, Kyle and Justin, siblings Carma (Robert) Geddes, of Banida, ID; Marlene (Frank) Bagley, of Salt Lake City, UT; Gary (Afton) Larson, of Roseburg, OR; and Sharon (Tracy) Baxter, of Rigby, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, four brothers Ariel, Elvin, Gene, and Glen, and two sisters Helen, and Alice.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, in Preston. A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. also at Webb Funeral Home.
