PRESTON, IDAHO - - JUNE G. NIELSEN
PRESTON- June Gamble Nielsen, 87, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston. She was born June 17, 1921, in Preston, Idaho, the daughter of John William and Mary Wells Gamble. She married O.H. "Dick" Nielsen on Nov. 8, 1940, in the Logan Temple.
He enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, and baking delicious bread and dinner rolls. She also loved canning, camping and playing cards. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings. She especially loved serving as a visiting teacher and teaching the Blazer boys in Primary for many years. She also enjoyed serving as a greeter at church for several years with her husband.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Neldon G. (Utahna) Nielsen of Perry, Utah; Stanley H. (Jan) Nielsen of Willard, Utah; Mart LaDell (Carol) Nielsen of West Jordan, Utah; Juneane (Paul) Borchardt of Fairview, Idaho; Shauna Lee (Lonny) Zook of Paradise, Utah; Lylene (Tracy) Bodily of Fairview, Idaho; thirty grandchildren, fifty-nine great-grandchildren, and a sister, Neva (Merlin) Mecham of Bountiful, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, Corma Chapman, a brother, Glen Gamble, two great-granddaughters, Piper Lynn Anderson and Caitlyn Nielsen, and by a brother-in-law, Art Chapman and a sister-in-law, Grace Gamble.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at noon in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E. 1st. S, Preston. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
