PRESTON, IDAHO JUNE GALLOWAY
PRESTON- June Ransom Galloway, 87, left this life on Jan. 15, 2011, to return to her Father in Heaven. She will be missed by those that remain on this Earth, but surely has had a great reunion with ancestors, family and friends for whom she showed loving kindness and with for whom she did endless genealogy.
She was born May 26, 1923, in Preston, Idaho, to John Austin Ransom and Agnes May Moore Ransom. She married Arthur Richard Galloway on May 31, 1943, in San Luis Obispo, California. Their marriage was later sealed in the Logan Temple. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1999.
She is survived by her four children, John T. (Lanell) Galloway of Houston, Texas; Arleta Galloway of Lewiston, Utah; Richard Val (Judy) Galloway of Cub River, Idaho; and JaNae (Brent) Martin of Smithfield, Utah. She is also survived by her younger sister, Jean Wells of Preston and by many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother, John Ransom, by four sisters, Arnetta Kershaw, Nellie Tarbet, Blanche Spillman and Faye Oliverson.
She loved to boast about her twelve grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angel Galloway and a great-grandson, Damien Collins.
June leaves behind a legacy of timeless genealogy and generosity and a great love for family "get-togethers." She must have made hundreds of quilts and almost as many afghans for family and friends. She served the Lord through, not only many callings in her church, but through kind acts and concern for others. She especially enjoyed serving as Primary President.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Rocky Mountain Home and Hospice care and many others who called on her and helped to make her comfortable and happy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new location, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Mapleton-Cub River Cemetery.
