Judith Lanz Doschades Ortega

TREASURETON, IDAHO JUDITH ORTEGA

TREASURETON- Judith Marie Lanz Doschades Ortega, 63, passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, having fought a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 3, 1949, in Monticello, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles Jorden and Delores Peterson Lanz.

She married Samuel John Ortega on Dec. 23, 2011, in Preston, Idaho. For the past two years, they raised three grandchildren. She loved her time with them and watching them grow. She had a special love of animals and their farm life in Treasureton.

She was a heavy equipment operator. She belonged to the Operating Engineers Union 370. Judy was blessed with a caring and nurturing nature that will be missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, Sam, of Treasureton; three grandchildren, Anthony Elija, Chandlier Duane and Brianna Rose Ortega, all of Treasureton; five sisters and two brothers, Dale Lanz of Big Lake, Minnesota; Beverly Petersen of Zimmerman, Minnesota; Teri (Kevin) Anderson of Dayton, Minnesota; Brenda (Tony) Belanger of Zimmerman, Minnesota; Debbie (Dan) Lanz-Hendricks of Pocatello, Idaho; Douglas (Robin) Lanz of Cambridge, Minnesota; and Shannon Lee (Philip) LaClair of Elk River, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, by a step-daughter, Rose Anna Ortega, and by her father-in-law, Bert Stewart.

- The family would like to thank Access Hospice and Portneuf Cancer Center. At Judy's request, her body has been donated to cancer research. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Private memorial services will be held on a future date.
