Joyce Colleen Loveday Brown, 81, of Logan, Utah died Saturday, June 15, 2013. A native of Logan, she was born on September 29, 1931 to Isaac and Hazel Loveday. She married Thadeus Dee Brown on August 9, 1948. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings in the auxiliaries of the church. She particularly enjoyed working for and was dedicated to Humanitarian Service. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and spent many years working with the Parent Teacher Association.
She loved reading and was a member of several book clubs throughout the years. She loved games and crossword puzzles. She spent many hours quilting and crocheting. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have precious items that she created. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was particularly fond of candy making. Each Christmas family and friends received gifts of hand-dipped chocolates. Her daughters will remember lessons in sewing, canning, and gardening. She was always up for a drive around the valley and a fresh lime coke! The cookie jar was always full of cookies or treats for grandchildren. Her family will forever remember days spent at Bear Lake, picnics in the canyon with longtime family friends, hot homemade bread with strawberry jam after school, and magical Christmases.
She is survived by her husband, Dee Brown, her daughters Sharon (Eric) Bunderson, Shauna (Scott) Kunz, Shannon (Michael) Call, Sharla Behrmann, Shari (Brook) Ferney, and her brother Lonnie Loveday. She was preceded in death by two children, Shelley Dee Hoffman and Thad Brown.
At her request, there will be a graveside service for family and friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Logan City Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
