WHITNEY, IDAHO JOSIE A. WINWARDWHITNEY- Josie Allred Winward, 101, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born May 6, 1907, in Osmond (Lincoln), Wyoming the daughter of Edwin Nelson and Sarah Jane Nield Allred. She married Fielding Hunsaker Winward on April 2, 1930, in the Logan Utah Temple. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1989.She enjoyed crocheting and singing (she sang in a trio). She was the #1 breadmaker and she loved gardening and flowers. She loved her grandchildren and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served in various callings. She served a two-year mission to Texas (where she met her sweetheart), taught gospel doctrine and she also served in the stake and ward primary organizations. She is survived by four sons and three daughters, Rene F. (Renee) Winward of Providence, Utah; Brookie Mae Herzog of West Jordan, Utah; Rea J. (Mark) Nielsen of Roy, Utah; Reed A. (JoAnn) Winward of West Jordan, Utah; Lynn D. (Jolene) Winward of Newberg, Oregon; Lyle N. (Eileen) Winward of Whitney; Gayla Dawn (Fred Olson-friend) Bennett of Preston, Idaho; a daughter-in-law, Julie Ann Winward of Pleasant Grove, Utah; 49 grandchildren, 133 great-grandchildren, 39 great great-grandchildren; and by a brother, Paul Allred of Afton, Wyoming, She was also preceded in death by her son, Lee Verl Winward, a daughter-in-law, Gaye N. Winward, three sons-in-law, Lane Bennett, Joel Eugene Dursteler, and Berne Y. Herzong and by two sisters and five brothers, Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Whitney First Ward Chapel with Bishop Jeff Leonard conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Whitney Cemetery.
