Joseph Dilworth (Dilly) Morrison, 92, of Franklin died Friday, July 5, 2013. He was born September 1, 1920 in Franklin Idaho son of Alma Morrison and Amy Leah Gregory Morrison. He is the third son and eighth child of the family of ten.
Dilworth met Etta LaRue Snyder at the Persiana Dance Hall in Preston, Idaho where they danced into each others lives. They married June 17, 1944 in Preston. They raised ten children in Franklin, Idaho. He farmed the land and raised all kinds of animals. He taught his 6 daughters and 4 sons how to work hard by his example.
Dilly enjoyed dancing, baseball, boxing, basketball, hunting and playing billiards. He loved the mountains and nature.
He was drafted into the Army for WW II on January 24,1945. He was given a honorable discharge and was released to go home on January 12, 1946. He loved this beautiful country!
He is preceded in death by his parents, his seven siblings, his wife, Etta LaRue Snyder, his daughter, Barbara Kristine Morrison Goodsell, his grandchildren; David Alma Rawlins, and Adam Darwin Goodsell and great-grandchild Macy Lynne Foster. He is survived by his two sisters; Mary Louise Adams and Amy Laretta Banks. His children; Tonna Rue Rawlins (Dell) of Cove, Utah, Evelyn (Larry)Young of Franklin, ID, Joe (Cindy) Morrison of Montpelier, His son-in-law Darwin Goodsell of Franklin, Idaho, Melvin (Kristen) Morrison of Franklin, ID, Betty (Charlie) Gentry of Soda Springs ID, Greg (JoBeth) Morrison of Franklin, ID, Sherry (Curtis) Pitcher of Ashton, ID, Brent (Jamie) Morrison of Franklin, ID, and Beth (Trini) Creger of Lewiston, UT. And a Sister-In-Law Carmen Snyder of Logan, UT. Dilworth has 48 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Franklin Stake Center with Bishop Roy Yardley conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 8th East, Preston, Idaho and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center.
